DAM 999 - a 3D emotional thriller of mystic dimensions

Now in post-production phase and planned to be released on the 1st of December 2010 in the USA (source: IMDB), DAM 999 will be the first Hollywood movie project directed by Sohan Roy.

DAM 999 is a tribute to the 1975 Banqiao Dam disaster in China that claimed around 200,000 innoncent lives and an eye opener to such man-made calamities.

The story revolves around a 100-year-old British Colonial DAM in India through 9 characters. The life of these nine characters, the emotions undergone and the final outbreak of their emotions are symbolized to the collapse of the dam. This close relation of these nine characters and the similar ending of these characters and the dam is the soul of the story. The nine characters experience nine different types of emotions and are portrayed as having with different hues, shades and colors in life.

DAM 999 is a portrait of Navarasas, ie, the nine basic forms of human emotions, which symbolically depicts to be a dam of emotions in the movie. The nine very forms of emotions reproduced are Adbhuta (wonder), Shanta (serenity & peace), Bhibatsya (disgust), Hasya (joy), Rowdra (anger), Veera (courage), Shringara (love & beauty), Bhaya (fear)and Karuna (grief). It takes you to feel the power of Ayurveda, Astrology and Vedic Mathematics.

Shot in the largest film production complex in the world (Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad), DAM 999 is expected to be a 3D emotional thriller of mystic dimensions.
